Recovered transmissions

Old Podcasts

Technology, news, music, weird ideas, and the sound of the early podcast era. This unified archive will grow as each recovered show is processed.

2009

Concastador

Technology, news, and music. Episodes 1–4 survive as local audio; video episodes 3–9 remain online.

2006–2007

Technodifier

The complete 37-episode technology podcast run, restored from the original audio archive and matched to its surviving show notes.

Original Technodifier artwork

The whole run survived.

One listening copy is presented for each episode. Redundant higher-bitrate encodes remain preserved in the NAS source backup but are not duplicated here.

2005–2008

Nodfast

A labor of love and a time capsule: opinion, technology, news, and editorial thought from Matthew, Josh, and Paul during podcasting's hand-coded early years.

Original Nodfast: A Topical Podcast artwork

“Matt’s magic fingers”

Matthew hand-coded the original RSS feed and edited every program. The show began with Josh and Paul while Matthew lived in Indiana, then continued after his move to Oakland in 2008. The recovered feed actually credits its generator to “Matt’s magic fingers.” Original numbering is preserved: 013 and 014 were skipped, while 017, 017A, and 017B are separate programs.

One-off experiments

Two additional programs were hiding among the Nodfast production files. They are distinct recordings rather than duplicate encodes of the main shows.

One-off program

Nodflash 001

2006 · 5:31

A short Nodfast Collective transmission preserved in the original production archive.

Prototype

Tech Notifier 001

2006 · 27:28

A separately encoded and audibly distinct early technology-show program found beside the Technodifier masters. The original file tags call it “Tech Notifier” and “Tech Nodifier,” so it is preserved here as a prototype rather than silently folded into Technodifier 001.
