Exploring the neighborhood
Well the area by our apartment is hopping right now.
CommonWealth micropub, just opened just south of 40th on Adeline (Closed M T/R 4-11p, Friday-Saturday 4p-12a, Sunday 4p-10p)
and Baseline produce market opened in a building in our complex.
The people who opened Baseline are also working on opening a cafe, Basic that will have coffee, food, and alcohol as I heard the word “mimosa” mentioned!
I started my little exploration of the few blocks around us by checking out Wally’s Cafe (opened 11am to 10pm all days but Sunday)
A Mediterranean place that I have had suggested to me by at least 3 different people.
It was pretty good!
Lentil soup and baklava are served with each meal order.
So I got lentil soup, falafel wrap, fries, and baklava for $9.80.
It is behind the Bank Club bar on San Pablo, which was jumping at 4pm. Looks like a good spot to get a cocktail as they had a full bar and pool tables.
I walked by Scarlet City Espresso Bar and Coffee Roasting as well and think I have a new place for Jess to check out for coffee.
